Gearing Up For Winter

This November at Phazebreak, we want to focus on wind energy and the preparation for the upcoming winter season. We know that winter is often the dreaded time of year for wind farm operators, but we absolutely intend to change that. Snow and ice can completely derail wind energy production and subsequent revenue with up to 25% of energy lost each winter.
In order to make wind energy as prolific as possible, we developed our coating NEINICE to get the job done. NEINICE was the first coating we created and is applied to wind turbine blades to protect against ice and snow. The coating is icephobic & self-cleaning, making it an ideal solution for insurance against winter's consequences. In order to learn about why our coating is significant or how it functions, it is important to learn about the dangers of winter weather against renewable energy.
We certainly don't have to tell you that ice on your turbines will lower performance, production and revenue, but you should know the other dangers that exist that could cost you even more money. Ice throw, for example, is when a wind turbine propels ice off of itself and onto the ground, oftentimes hitting structures or even people. Additional maintenance is also almost always necessary during the winter at wind farms due to the complete shutdown of a turbine which happens frequently when too much snow accumulates.
The team at Phazebreak would like to thank wind farm operators, turbine maintenance crews, and everybody who continues to work hard to preserve renewable energy on Earth.
