SURFACE SLIP
HYDROPHILIC DEFENSE
In areas where turbines and solar panels are subjected to dust, sand, and grime, SURFACE SLIP provides an extra line of self-cleaning defense. This reduces drag for wind turbines and protects PVs from excess soiling, both of which improve power production for operators.
WIND TURBINE PROTECTION
Buildup of debris on turbine blades can significantly increase drag, reducing maximum power production for affected turbines. Cleaning blades can be costly for operators, and needs regular, year-round maintenance. SURFACE SLIP's hydrophilic self-cleaning properties means that dirt, sand, and other grime will have a harder time anchoring to the airfoil.
An application of SURFACE SLIP is far cheaper than standard cleaning costs for turbine blades with platform or rope.
COMPREHENSIVE DUSTING
PROTECTION
According to NREL, the energy lost annually from soiling ranges from 7% in parts of the United States to 50% in places like the Middle East. In areas where there is high soiling and low precipitation, cleanings are recommended panels several times a year.
A one-time cleaning for a 10-megawatt solar farm can cost an estimated $5,000, and in many cases is recommended one or more times yearly. SURFACE SLIP is a multi-year solution, with application costs being recouped over the lifespan of the coating.
Studies have demonstrated that SURFACE SLIP protects panels without interfering with energy production levels.

SELF-CLEANING
SOLUTION
In areas of high humidity, fungus has been known to grow on PV modules. Lichens are a complex symbiotic partnership of two separate organisms, a fungus and an alga.
Like soiling, lichens and fungus can signifiantly reduce the power output of PV panels. These can be very difficult to remove without long, laborious hours of scrubbing, due to anchoring. SURFACE SLIP prevents these headaches from forming before they present a problem.
